Prepare to be totally impressed by a new kind of shoe.

These are Tiny Toms. They’re ultra-lightweight, eco-friendly, and absolutely adorable (yes, that is a buffalo print you’re looking at). But the true beauty of these shoes is that for every pair purchased, the company will give a pair to a child in need on your behalf. Incredibly, they do this for every customer, for every pair of shoes.

Toms Shoes were born when the creator saw the staggering poverty and health concerns while in Argentina. Inspired by the traditional shoes of the country, he went home and created this company with the mission to make life more comfortable for the people of the continent. In it’s first shoe give-back, the company gave more than 10,000 pairs just from matching customer purchases to the needy kids who inspired the idea.

Available for infants & toddlers in 5 colors/patterns- $29.95 from Amazon.com with free shipping.

Oh, and they also make equally wonderful mens & womens shoes too!

Weebit infant shoes

Simple Shoes may be familiar to some of you, but they’re a company I just discovered - and a pretty cool one at that.

Makers of not just mens’ & womens’ shoes but infant, toddler, and kid shoes too, the company is committed to making their products 100% sustainable. Some of their most common materials include PET (also known as old plastic bottles, etc.), old car tires, and organic cotton.

And that’s just getting started on the good things about this company and their shoes.

We like them because they’re…

  1. Good for the planet.
  2. Cute! Check out the Infants’ Weebit Shoes (pictured above), that ship in a shoebox described as a “state of the art/back to the future post consumer recycled box… it looks like a truck. No, really.”, Toddlers’ Toeday Shoes, and their EcoSneaks line.
  3. Offering FREE SHIPPING on domestic ground orders.
  4. Donating $5 to StopGlobalWarming.org for each pair of Stop Global Warming Toepeeka flip-flops they sell.

If you haven’t already noticed, we have a bit of a thing for baby shoes
here at Looking For Penguins. I mean, who can resist a darling pair of
itty bitty shoes?

These Ramen Noodle Baby Booties really caught my eye. Ultra cute, recycled (bonus points), possibly the next big trend. As for comfort, who knows…. But at the sizes of 0-3 or 3-6 months only, I’m guessing they’re not meant for much walking.

The creative, self-proclaimed “craftaholic” behind these is MoJo Trashion, who covers the recycled ramen packages with vinyl and sews them into booties with felt lining.

Visit MoJo Trashion’s Etsy store and get ‘em while they’re hot!

Also be sure to check out their Cheetos baby booties. (And with every booties purchase, Mom gets a free matching change purse. Oooh…)
