Chapped lips were unknown to me until this past year when - out of the blue - my lips began resembling the dry, cracked, desert floor of the Sahara during the hot season. And using Chapstick was like trying to put out a fire with a water pistol. Even Carmex didn’t help (really).

So I’m trying something new: Eco Lips Organic Lip Balm. These little lovelies are affordable and evidently I’m the only person in the free world who hasn’t tried and raved about them. Johnson’s Soothing Vapor for Colds Baby Bath (3 months and older). The vapors ease congestion with taking a bath. This is a No More Tears formula and they mean it…the suds and vapors do not sting little eyes.

Vicks BabyRub Soothing Vapor Ointment (3 months and older). Just like the adult version, but not as strong for kidlets. Tip from savvy Grandma: Rub a bit on baby’s feet and cover with socks at night to stop the coughing and allow parents baby to get some much needed sleep.

SudaCare Nighttime Vapor-Plug (3 months and older). These little miracle-workers plug right into an electrical outlet and emit 8 hours worth of soothing vapors for your wee sick one. Refills are easily available.

Rest and fluids is what the good doctors and nurses advise over and over. And remember: this, too, shall pass.
