Ecolips Chapped lips were unknown to me until this past year when - out of the blue - my lips began resembling the dry, cracked, desert floor of the Sahara during the hot season. And using Chapstick was like trying to put out a fire with a water pistol. Even Carmex didn’t help (really).

So I’m trying something new: Eco Lips Organic Lip Balm. These little lovelies are affordable and evidently I’m the only person in the free world who hasn’t tried and raved about them. Voted “Best for Chapped Lips” by Natural Health Magazine and winner of “Best Lip Balm” by H2O Beauty Awards, this relatively new product has hit the market with a vengeance.

And did I mention that they are completely organic? Eco Lips even keeps a counter on their website of how many gallons of petroleum have been saved by people using Eco Lips….35,361 so far!

Here’s one of our favorite places to kill time on the Internet and laugh till we pee:

Overheard in New York

Seriously….it’s a daily log of things overheard in New York City and because it’s New York, it should go without saying that you really shouldn’t visit this site if your sensibilities are easily offended. You’ve been warned. Now go laugh till you pee.

Cold and flu season has arrived full force and let’s face it, unless you sequester your kidlet in solitary confinement, they are living in one giant petri dish.

And unless you’ve been living under a rock, we’re sure you’ve heard that all those meds for children under the age of two have been banned by the FDA and you (probably) won’t find them on any store shelf.

So that leaves us parental-types with precious little to alleviate those runny noses and congested airways. Personal experience leads us to advise you to stock up on the following — all of which can be easily ordered from Drugstore.com and delivered right to your doorstep:

Baby bath Johnson’s Soothing Vapor for Colds Baby Bath (3 months and older). The vapors ease congestion with taking a bath. This is a No More Tears formula and they mean it…the suds and vapors do not sting little eyes.

Baby rub Vicks BabyRub Soothing Vapor Ointment (3 months and older). Just like the adult version, but not as strong for kidlets. Tip from savvy Grandma: Rub a bit on baby’s feet and cover with socks at night to stop the coughing and allow parents baby to get some much needed sleep.

SudacareSudaCare Nighttime Vapor-Plug (3 months and older). These little miracle-workers plug right into an electrical outlet and emit 8 hours worth of soothing vapors for your wee sick one. Refills are easily available.

Rest and fluids is what the good doctors and nurses advise over and over. And remember: this, too, shall pass.
